THE KEY ANSWER

SEO, GEO, and AEO are united by the need for clear, useful, and verifiable content. Answer specific questions, show sources and experience, care for indexable HTML and linking. There is no guaranteed way to be cited by AI.

01

What do these concepts mean in practice?

SEO concerns visibility in search engines. AEO is used in the context of preparing content to answer questions, while GEO refers to presence in the responses of generative systems. The boundaries of these terms are not uniform. From the perspective of a website owner, the more important task is to help the audience find a reliable answer and proceed to the next step.

Google explains that for AI Overviews and AI Mode, basic SEO practices remain current. It does not require a special text file for AI or a separate type of structured data. This is an important indication when choosing priorities. It is worth improving content and website accessibility first, rather than treating the new acronym as a reason to implement another technical trick.

02

Write an answer that can be understood without the entire page

The heading should specify the question or the topic of the section. The first paragraph can provide a direct answer, while subsequent ones explain conditions, examples, and limitations. If the text describes cost, show the components and assumptions. If it compares solutions, indicate for whom a given option is appropriate.

Example: instead of a general section titled “The Future of Business,” prepare “When does offer automation make sense?” The recipient will quickly determine whether the problem concerns their company. The elaboration can include volume, data quality, and the approval stage. However, do not stuff the same phrase into every sentence. Precision comes from a good description, not from mechanical repetition of words.

03

Build connections and evidence

Link guides with services and examples that deepen the same problem. A reader of a text about RAG may need information about permissions, quality, and cost. A well-described link allows choosing the next question. Do not create dozens of pages differing only by city name or a random synonym.

Provide the author or responsible editorial team, the date of update, and sources for specific claims. Separate your own example from the result of a study. If you show an implementation, describe the actual role and confirmed results. Credibility is part of the content, not a field that can be filled with a fabricated client opinion.

04

Technical foundations and measuring the effect

The most important content should be available in HTML, and subpages reachable through ordinary links. Ensure unique titles, descriptions, canonical addresses, and a sitemap. Structured data should correspond to what the user sees. Do not add review or author markup if you do not have such information in the actual content.

Measure indexing, entries for relevant questions, and user actions after reading. The mere number of published articles does not say whether they reach the right audience. Update texts when facts change, and develop questions appearing in sales conversations. Visibility is not guaranteed by a checklist, but a readable website facilitates discovering value.

WHERE TO START

Bring this into your project.

  • Answer specifically already in the first paragraph.
  • Add conditions, an example, and the source of a significant claim.
  • Connect topics with appropriate services and guides.
  • Check HTML, metadata, links, and structured data consistency.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions.

Will the llms.txt file ensure citation by Google AI?

No. Google does not require special text files for its AI features and does not guarantee the appearance of a page in responses. The priority remains accessibility and useful content.

Is a FAQ sufficient for AEO?

No. A FAQ helps answer specific questions, but it does not replace solid main content, sources, and good website structure. Simply marking questions does not guarantee highlighting in results.
